Muragala l Centre for Progressive Politics and Policy (CPPP) conducted a Diplomatic Briefing with Factum and Arutha on “The NPP Government: Politics, Policy Options, and Challenges”. The event took place on 8 October 2024 at the Colombo Courtyard by Marriott.
The briefing updated the diplomatic community in Sri Lanka on a post-election analysis and the NPP government’s progress over the past few weeks, focusing on key areas such as the economy, politics, policy decisions, international relations, and geopolitics. It also discussed future challenges and policy options in the lead up to the upcoming general elections and beyond.
The Briefing was moderated by Factum Co-Founder and Advisor Dr Ranga Kalansooriya. Factum’s Advisor Omar Rajaratnam and Chief International Relations Analyst Uditha Devapriya discussed the foreign policy section, while Factum’s Director Mandana Ismail Abeywickrema briefed about the civic space. Muragala l CPPP’s senior analyst Harindra B. Dassanayake spoke on the political aspects of the elections, and Arutha’s Umesh Moramudali reflected on the economic aspects.
