The Bandaranaike Academy for Leadership of Public Policy (BALPP) signed an academic and research partnership agreement with the Muragala | Centre for Progressive Politics & Policy (CPPP) on 11 March 2026, marking the beginning of a collaborative effort to strengthen policy research and public dialogue in Sri Lanka.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines several key areas of cooperation, including the establishment of a joint Policy Hub dedicated to policy development, the organisation of policy discussions and dialogues, and the undertaking of research projects in priority policy areas. A central aim of the partnership is to bring critical policy issues into mainstream public debate and academic discourse, thereby contributing to more informed and evidence-based policymaking.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Tara de Mel, Executive Director of BALPP, and Mr. Harindra B. Dassanayake Executive Director of Muragala | Centre for Progressive Politics & Policy (CPPP).
This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing thoughtful policy engagement, strengthening research capacity, and fostering meaningful dialogue on Sri Lanka’s most pressing governance and development challenges.
